Disaster Relief Unit Deployed
In February 2009 the DBA Chainsaw Unit was deployed to Yellville, Arkansas to assist this small community with clean up from the recent ice storm. A group from Denton Baptist Association and Collin Baptist Association were deployed to the same location. The team worked for a week cleaning up yards, removing branches from roofs, cutting out damaged limbs from trees, as well as offering a word of encouragement to residents of Yellville.
Mary Clem, a resident of Yellville, called the association office wanting us to know how wonderful it was to have such kind, Christian men working so hard to serve their community. Many of the residents are elderly, disables and not able physically to clean up their yards. The work that was done was truly a blessing to so many. Members of First Baptist Church Yellville provided three meals a day and lodging for the team.
